Web Impact Summit 2026: Why Founders Are Ready to Own Their AI System
I spent September 26 at Hyatt Centric Janakpuri, standing at our agency.in booth, talking to people. By the end of the day I had spoken to close to 200 founders and AI enthusiasts. Here is what I took away from it.
AI adoption in India has moved past the acceptance phase
We exhibited at Indian Web Summit last year, in 2025. Back then, every conversation started at the same place. What is AI. What will it do. People were curious, a little skeptical, still working out where it fit.
This year, that conversation was gone. Nobody at our booth asked me to explain what AI is. Every person had already accepted it as part of their day. Excel sheets, social posts, graphics, all being touched by AI in some form.
That is the shift from 2025 to 2026. The question is no longer if AI belongs in a business. It is what to do with it next.

Renting AI tools vs owning an AI system
Most of what I heard was people renting AI. A subscription for this, a tool for that. It works, but it stops there.
I kept steering conversations toward a different question. If AI is doing your manual work now, why are you still paying rent on it every month? Why not own the system?
That is the pitch I made all day. Build a system around your specific process. Own it. The cost shifts, from paying ChatGPT or Claude every month, to paying for a system that knows your business context, runs your manual work, and keeps your data under your control. Price it against what you already pay a driver or a cook each month, and that is roughly where it starts.
Founders got this immediately. Most of them had never thought about AI as something you could own instead of rent.

Sessions worth mentioning: AI, quantum computing, and performance marketing
Between conversations, I caught a few sessions.
Anand Raje spoke on the Quantum & AI Disruption panel, on what AI and quantum computing together are doing to SaaS and software engineering. The infrastructure under these products is changing as fast as the products themselves. Database design, encryption, all of it is being rethought.

I also caught Vinayak Kejriwal and Nilay Chakrapani talk about AI driven performance marketing. Their argument lined up with what I was hearing at my own booth. The mechanical work in marketing, making the assets, running the ads, is mostly automated now. What is left is deciding what to say and who to say it to. That part is still human.

Why owning your AI system matters more than ever
A year is a long time in this space. In 2025, we were explaining AI. In 2026, we are helping people own it.
That is the gap we work in at agency.in. We help businesses stop renting AI tools and start owning AI systems built around how they actually work. AI performs far better when it has your business context and your proprietary data behind it, and that data is worth protecting. You should do everything you can to keep it under your own control.
If you stopped by our booth and we talked, thank you. If you didn't and this sounds like where you are, get in touch with agency.in to talk about your own AI system.
